Friday

Friday Sprints Ride
  • Ride Speeds Offered: Light Blue (see ride type speed options above)
  • Ride Time: 7am
  • Ride Start Location: side lot in Naples Cyclery parking lot
  • Ride Description: 30 mile ride. This ride often includes the largest range of skills sets so be alert and communicate. The course includes 2 laps in Pine Ridge followed by 1 full lap in Pelican Bay and then 3 half laps in Pelican Bay. With many stops and turns on the course be sure to communicate early and often. Easy out of the stops helps keep the rotation remain steady and prevents gaps. The final 3 half laps in Pelican Bay include optional sprints. The sprint zone starts at Bay Colony and ends at the stop-ahead sing before Oakmont Parkway. After each sprint turn right at the corner and maintain a slow pace to allow for a regroup with non-sprinters. If you don’t want to sprint: stay in back, keep pedaling to maintain 24 mph, and hold your line. Safety > ego.

Friday Gravel Grinders (offered in non-rainy season)
  • Ride Speeds Offered: Blue & Green (see ride type speed options above)
  • Ride Time: 7am
  • Ride Start Location: Southwest corner of Physicians Regional parking lot
  • Ride Description: This ‘gravel’ ride is for people who have bikes with knobby tires. Expect loose sand and pea gravel while on the trail.
    • Do not cut the inside of the corners of oncoming traffic because there are times where the corners are blind and cars are sometimes on the road.
    • Everyone stays together until we make the left onto Rifle Ridge Road (first left). Once there, the group can go at their own pace until the ’T’ intersection at Miller. There will be a regroup there and the group stays together for the remainder of the ride until the right turn back on to Rifle Ridge Road that’s also called 78th. At that point, if you would like to ‘race pace’ back to Sabal Palm, by all means rip it!
